What the assessment measures, what movement age means, what the living plan costs, and what happens to your data.
The assessment
- What is a movement assessment?
- A movement assessment looks at how your body moves through fundamental patterns — squatting, reaching overhead, balancing on one leg — to spot restrictions, asymmetries, and compensations. Allium reads these from short clips you record on your phone, then combines what it sees with your health history to produce a recommendation built around you.
- What does the assessment cost, and how long does it take?
- The assessment is free and takes about ten minutes: a short intake about your body and history, then two optional movement clips — a shoulder raise and a squat — recorded with your phone camera. You can skip the clips and still get an assessment; the result is sharper with them.
- How accurate is the assessment?
- The assessment reliably captures the big picture of how you move — squat depth, side-to-side differences, shoulder range — and flags the patterns worth paying attention to. It's a screen, not a clinical diagnosis: it points you toward what to explore, and toward where a professional's eye might help, rather than labelling a condition.
- What is movement age?
- Movement age translates how you move into a single, age-equivalent number. It compares your measured range and control against typical benchmarks for different ages, so a result of 34, for example, means your movement resembles that of a healthy 34-year-old. It's a plain-language way to see where you stand today and to track whether your training is actually changing it.
Recommendations
- What modalities does Allium cover?
- Allium covers 11 movement-health modalities: physical therapy, acupuncture, qi gong, strength training, massage therapy, mobility and stretching, dry needling, cold therapy, cupping, red light therapy, and sauna. Each is scored based on your movement data, regions of concern, and goals.
- How does Allium decide what to recommend?
- Every recommendation is matched to your specific results — your regions of concern, your goals, your history, and what your assessment measured. Nothing is generic: the list is built from your own results, not pulled off a shelf, and each item comes with a short note on why it's there for you.
The plan
- What is the living plan?
- The living plan turns your assessment into a weekly practice: one to four items a week — exercises, curated videos, at most one practitioner referral — chosen from what actually matches your synthesis, adapting to what you did and how it felt. A monthly check-in reviews your progress and revises the plan. It costs $100 for six months, about $17 a month, and you can cancel anytime.
- What if I want more than a self-serve plan?
- Coached is the one-to-one tier: $100 a month for a plan curated by hand, form checks on your movement clips, and a direct chat thread. The first month is refunded if it's not for you. You can start from any assessment — the living plan page shows both options side by side.
- How do I get back into my plan?
- Your plan lives behind a private, unguessable link rather than a password. If you lose the link, use the recovery option on the living plan page: enter the email you signed up with and a fresh link is sent to it.
Your data
- What happens to my movement videos?
- Your clips never leave your device. Allium reads them right on your phone and keeps only the measurements — the points and angles you see on your report — never the video itself. The privacy policy lists exactly what is kept and what is never collected.
- Is Allium a medical service?
- No. Allium provides educational content and personalised synthesis, not medical advice. The assessment identifies movement patterns and suggests modalities to explore — it does not diagnose conditions or replace a licensed clinician.
Still curious? The fastest answer is the assessment itself — it's free and takes about ten minutes.
